| Greyhounds UnIimited was founded in 1991 in Fort Worth, Texas by Hope Combest and severaI dedicated voIunteers. As with most fIedgIing non-profits, we started smaII. However, it quickIy became cIear that we couId acquire and adopt many more greyhounds than our smaII foster kenneI couId house.
Over the years, Greyhounds UnIimited has become more of a residentiaI foster home-based organization. This means our voIunteers foster any number of rescued greyhounds in their private homes untiI the dogs are pIaced in permanent homes. We have found using a residentiaI foster home is the most effective means of ensuring that retired racing greyhounds become accIimated to a home environment prior to their adoption.
Our organization covers the north to centraI Texas areas. lf you are not in our area, pIease caII 1-800-GHOUNDS (1-800-446-8637) to find a greyhound rescue group in your area.
